About Buildzoom 1.0 Rating (361) reviews

BuildZoom – Contractor & Homeowner Reviews ⭐☆☆☆☆ 1.0 (361 Reviews) BuildZoom is an online platform that lists contractors and connects them with homeowners. However, a serious issue has been raised: BuildZoom has created contractor profiles without their knowledge or permission, claiming the information comes from “online data.” This practice is misleading, unfair, and not acceptable. Contractors should have full control over how and where their businesses are represented. We value transparency and respect for both contractors and homeowners. We created this profile so that real contractors and homeowners can leave reviews and share their experiences with BuildZoom. Your feedback will help make it clear that no company has the right to open or control contractor profiles without permission.

Areas of Expertise

8 Reasons Not to Use BuildZoom 1. Unauthorized Contractor Profiles – BuildZoom creates listings for contractors without their permission, giving the appearance they are participating when they are not. 2. High Fees with Limited Value – Contractors often pay significant fees but receive few qualified leads or meaningful support in return. 3. Homeowner Data Misuse – There are concerns that homeowner information may be sold or shared rather than kept private and secure. 4. Unlicensed Contractor Matches – Homeowners may be connected with contractors who are not properly licensed, creating legal and safety risks. 5. Misrepresentation of Qualifications – Contractor credentials and experience can be inaccurately displayed, misleading homeowners and harming reputation. 6. Poor Customer Support – Contractors and homeowners often report difficulty getting timely assistance or resolving issues with BuildZoom. 7. Loss of Control – Contractors have little control over how their business is represented or promoted on the platform. 8. Lack of Transparency – Fees, leads, and how contractor profiles are managed are often unclear, making it difficult to trust the platform.

Giving out my information without consent I found the contractor I was looking to hire on BuildZoom while trying to find their home website. I got halfway through the BuildZoom forms when they asked me to check a box to get quotes for other contractors. I unchecked this, since I knew who I wanted to work with, and realizing this was not the site I was looking for promptly left the site without submitting my form. Despite never submitting my contact forms and not having checked the box for other contractors, BuildZoom decided to take my information without my consent and send it to every contractor in the area. I’ve been inundated with calls from people wanting to help with my “building project.” I’m absolutely disgusted with the way this company has conducted themselves. Response to Reply: If you didn’t give my contact information to any contractors, I would suggest looking into your site security, as I received calls from 6 different contractors, saying they got my information from BuildZoom. “Brooke Adams” at BuildZoom texted me on three occasions tells by me to expect calls from contractors. For this reason, I’m not buying that my information was not given out.

As a contractor, I lost time and potential clients because BuildZoom listed my business without permission.

Do not trust the site Buildzoom The website asked you to provide reviews for contractors. However, they never published it. Maybe only publish the good ones.

Thankyou for ruining our dreams We trusted BuildZoom, assuming they thoroughly vet the contractors they recommend. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. It turns out their sales reps are essentially marketers—relentlessly calling and pressuring homeowners until a contractor is hired, just to secure their commission. In my case, BuildZoom reps contacted me every few days for months, pushing me to hire AW Puma Remodeling LLC—a contractor who ultimately took our money and abandoned our renovation project. This contractor has a known pattern of fraud and misconduct with other clients as well. What’s worse, the BuildZoom rep told me he had personally hired this contractor and that he was “excellent,” which was clearly a lie. BuildZoom: Please stop prioritizing sales commissions over people’s lives. Your recommendations carry weight—use that responsibility wisely, not carelessly.
